Cape Cod is a famous vacation destination. West Yarmouth in particular is full of history and activity. No matter the size or make up of your vacationing party, you'll find it all within a 35 minute drive. For those who want physical activity, there is hiking, horseback riding or bicycle riding along bike trails that meander throughout Cape Cod, weaving on and off of the coast line, or simply travel a spectacular section - The National Seashore Bike Paths.

Some of the area's finest golf courses are only minutes away - Bayberry Hills, Cranberry Valley, The Captain's Golf Course, Ocean Edge, King's Way (Executive course - par 59), The Highland Golf Links (9 hole course - first golf course built on Cape Cod in 1892 and is right next to the Highland Lighthouse & Museum). Many fancy miniature golf courses are also within a 10 minute drive, including Pirate's Cove.

The ocean brings with it lots of water sports such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing, water biking, deep sea fishing; and of course there is swimming at any of the beaches on the Cape including Colonial Acres, 100 ft from the house or try some the others nearby such as Sea Gull Beach or Englewood Beach.

For a more relaxing time, check out the shops and galleries in the artsy community of Provincetown, or visit museums of many varieties (JFK in Hyannis, historic, nature, fine arts, children's, maritime, railroad, fire, classic cars). You can do some bird watching or spend some time in the local playhouses and cinemas or even go on a whale watch. Want to see how the pilgrims lived? About a one hour drive away is Plimoth Plantation where the community acts, dresses, and talks like they did in the 17th century. Closer to home is Heritage Plantation which has automobile, carousel and military museums, and a windmill all surrounded by acres of flower gardens.

Of course you don't want to miss Nantucket (rent a jeep and drive the seashore)

and Martha's Vineyard (see where all those famous people live) while you are in

the area. For a true walk through history, sporting events and some of the finest restaurants in the country, Boston is 79 miles and about a 90 minute drive away.
